Homesteading is a growing grassroots movement in North America because people are developing a greater need to become more self-sufficient in how they live. They want more control over their food and shelter requirements, so they are choosing to create different lifestyles and priorities than most people. It is an exciting time to be able to have the freedom to choose a different path. With a little knowledge and some time spent learning new skills, you too can learn how to create your own self-sufficient homestead whether you live in the city, country or suburbs in-between. We will explore a brief history of what homesteading is all about, it’s pro’s and con’s, the essential components, how to integrate or transition with your preferred timing or budget constraints. We will go through some details of food awareness, gardening, storage options, preservation techniques, small scale livestock care and shelters. You will leave the day with a plan of where to begin your homesteading transition steps.

What you will Learn

  1. History of Homesteading, Essential Components and Pro’s & Con’s
  2. Integrating Homesteading into Your life with Grace & Support
  3. Details of Food Awareness & Storage, Gardening Practice, Small Scale Livestock & Buildings
  4. Experiential Practice: Begin Planning Your Customized Homesteading Transition Strategy

aboutEach subject is a one day workshop, either on Saturday or Sunday (1 day = 7 hours: 9 – 12, 1 – 4, 4 – 5 Integration/Closing). There are 2 day workshops once a month, alternating soma earth & Building Soul workshops every other month. Experiential work is done throughout the teachings, breaking up the academic learning and presentation material.

Workshops can be taken individually or as part of the Mentorship Program in 3 branches: soma earth, Building Soul, or a selected combination of the two is Wild Earth Wisdom. The Wild Earth Wisdom Essentials Certificate Program Workshops are those in Green Text and includes an extra Summary Integration event at the end of the First Year if all of them are taken as part of the Mentorship Program.

These workshops are for the first year only. Priority placement is given to those in the Mentorship Program.
